About

dim.rest is a quiet directory of restaurants that may work as a sensory safe space. We verify facts (quiet, lighting, order without speaking), not whether a place is good.

This site is written first for people who prefer low sensory load. Autism is part of why that matters: many autistic people (and others) look for quieter rooms, kinder lighting, and a way to order without speaking. We mention that here so the rest of the site can stay calm and factual.

Each sensory fact is shown only when we have a mark for it. We do not guess. Cards show verified icons only. On a venue page you will see all six facts: verified, or a quiet dash if we do not have a mark yet.

Listings are maintained from a Google Sheet used as the admin source. That sheet is not a public editor. Changes are reviewed and published by hand.

If a listing should come down — you own the place, you were listed in error, or you simply want it gone — ask and we will remove it. Use Contact.

Community marks on a card are the count already stored with that listing. They are not a star rating and not a medical or accessibility certification.

If you know a place, suggest it. New listings are added by hand after review.
